Knowing Difference: Display vs. Search Ads

Updated: Nov 28, 2023

One of my favorite parts of this business is talking nerdy. However, explaining how a company can grow in marketing is essential, and there should never be a static moment in building your online strategies. But it's necessary to explain the difference in ad marketing and how a business can benefit by investing back into their business.

Google Adwords is one of the most popular digital marketing platforms clients use to drive traffic to their websites. As a result, many companies have invested in it to grow their business over the years. Research has shown that PPC visitors are 50% more likely to purchase something than organic visitors. The same goes for Facebook ads. Targeting the right audience can get your product before the person viewing them to build a retaining audience.

Google Ads for Search and Display Ads

If you have been burned in the past trying to run and manage your own Google Adwords or didn't manage your budget, then this post is to get back on track to understand the benefit of what ad campaign works for your business.

What kinds of ads should you develop? Here is a breakdown of the difference between Display and Search Ads with Google Adwords:

Display Ads

Display advertisement is anywhere with an electronic device or screen; this includes televisions, smartphones, computers, etc. Examples of display ads are banners in your email inbox or flashing notifications on your phone when browsing Facebook. In comparison, display advertising is in front of high-traffic areas, such as major online news sites. It is also often used for branding campaigns on search engine results pages. It's a form of advertising that uses images and designs to capture the attention of potential customers.

Display ads can be anything from banner ads to pop-up ads, while search advertisements are text-based links. The upside of display ads is that they are seen by the consumer longer than a search advertisement because the user has to click on them before the content loads.

Search Ads

Search advertising falls under the category of digital marketing. An internet marketing method uses search engine results to produce online business opportunities from websites or blog sites. Search Ads are a form of PPC advertising that appears on the screen's right-hand side when someone searches for a keyword or phrase that your company advertises. This form of advertising is so effective because the ads are seen by potential customers already interested in what you have to offer.

The benefits allow for greater targeting, better analytics, and more control over where people will see your advertisement. In addition, your results on the CPC and CTR are controlled based on your budget and can provide better results in the long run.

Search gets your ads before your target audience, and you can control your CPC (cost per click);. In contrast, display ads cost a little less CPC than your regular search ads, but you can overrun your monthly budget quickly, and CTR can be much lower than your average search advertising. In conclusion, paid advertising is a great way to promote a product or service and draw new customers to your company. There are many different types of paid advertising, such as ads on TV, newspaper ads, Facebook ads, and Google AdWords. Understanding your niche marketing is one of the best ways to get real traffic to your website. Designedbycarla
